JUVENILE CHARGED WITH CRIMINAL MISCHIEF BY GRAFFITI

     Chief Christopher Fletcher of the Maple Shade Police Department announces that a 14 year old male juvenile from Cinnaminson has been charged with three counts of 3^rd Degree Criminal Mischief.
     On February 7^th the Maple Shade Police Department were dispatched to the Woodlawn Field sports complex for the report of graffiti being spray painted on one the field clubhouses. A check of the complex was completed the next day revealing other areas of the complex found to have new graffiti to include the township street hockey court, the township youth softball field and the township playground. Graffiti was also located at the Collins Lane Park which all included the same markings, the cost to remove the graffiti was determined to be $2,000.
     With the assistance of the township surveillance footage of the area, a suspect was identified. On February 15, 2023, a legal process was executed at the suspect’s residence which revealed a backpack that the suspect was seen wearing on the night of the graffiti still containing several bottles of spray paint along with the bicycle the suspect was observed riding.
     The investigation was handled by Detective Brian Martino of the Maple Shade Police Department. The juvenile was processed and release pending hearings in the Burlington County Family Court.
