Subject: Fatal Accident
On Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at approximately 2228 hours officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Mead St. for a rollover accident, with one of the occupants unresponsive. Officers arrived and found a GMC SUV heavily damaged, and two parked cars damaged. An 18 year old female was in the backseat unresponsive with severe injuries. Rescue declared her deceased at the scene.
Occupants and witnesses reported that the GMC was northbound through the 1800 block of Mead St. at a high rate of speed when it lost control and struck a parked vehicle, causing the GMC to roll.
The operator of the vehicle is an 18 year old male. Other occupants of the vehicle include a 20 year old male, 18 year old female and an 18 year old male. All but one of the occupants were transported to the hospital. It does appear that alcohol was a factor. The driver of the vehicle was arrested.
