News Release: No Bomb Found After Threat at Stanford Shopping Center

Palo Alto, CA Police investigated a phoned-in bomb threat this morning to the management office at the Stanford Shopping Center.  No bomb was found.
 
On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at about 10:16 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call from the management office at the Stanford Shopping Center at 180 El Camino Real reporting that they had just received a bomb threat via phone.  Officers responded to the area immediately.
 
Police worked in close collaboration with Stanford Shopping Center management staff, and together with their security personnel, searched the entire premises with the assistance of a canine certified in explosives detection from the Stanford Department of Public Safety.  No bomb was found.  Police declared the scene safe at about 11:30 a.m.
 
No evacuations or lockdowns were ordered during this incident.  Detectives are actively investigating the case. The suspect who called is an unknown adult male.
