Fairfield Man Arrested in Connection with March 11 Armed Robbery 
27-year-old Shamond Smith of Fairfield has been arrested for a March 11 armed robbery. Smith surrendered today, March 20 at around 7:00 pm, after members from Fairfield Police Department’s Patrol and Emergency Services Units converged on a residence in the 700 block of Broadway Street. Smith will be booked for Robbery and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
In the March 11 robbery, Smith and two others approached a man as he was leaving a bar in the 800 block of Texas Street. They struck the man with a handgun before robbing him of several personal items and fleeing the scene.
