Red Flag Warning until 09:00PM Friday
The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a Red Flag Warning for extreme grassland fire danger. This is a potentially dangerous situation, which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM CDT Friday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* Extreme Grassland Fire Danger...Is forecast. This is a particularly dangerous situation for mainly south-central and southeast Kansas.
* Winds...West 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph, strongest over south-central and southeast Kansas.
* Relative Humidity...As low as 15 percent, lowest over southern Kansas.
* Impacts...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and become very difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
