On Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 9:04 PM, Corcoran Police Officers were dispatched to the Dollar Tree Parking lot, 1100 Whitley Avenue, regarding a large fight in progress. A caller reported one of the male adults was carrying a firearm. On arrival Officers located a male adult, later identified as Alexes Rangel, reaching into his waist band. Rangel matched the description of the person reported to have the firearm. Officers gave orders for Rangel to show his hands and when he did not comply, he was taken down and arrested. Rangel was found to be in possession of a firearm with no serial number, and possession of a controlled substance. Rangel was booked into Kings County Jail for being in violation of 25400(A)(2) PC- Carry concealed firearm, 25850(C)(6) PC- Carry a loaded handgun not registered, 29180(C) PC- Own a firearm without a serial number. Rangel’s bail was set at $100,000.00.
