On June 10 at around 9:30 pm, Dispatch received an automated message from a cell phone, advising the owner had been involved in a collision and was in need of assistance near Cordelia Road and Beck Avenue.
Patrol officers responded to the area and located a single motorcycle rider with life-threatening injuries. Officers, along with Fairfield Fire and Medic Ambulance personnel, provided medical treatment and transported the victim to a local
hospital.
The Traffic Unit responded to conduct the investigation. The preliminary investigation has determined the motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Cordelia Road, and for reasons that have yet to be determined, left the roadway, traveled down the embankment, and into a barb wire fence. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor at this time.
The motorcyclist remains in critical condition.
