Press Release: Police Investigating Overnight Shooting Death of 26-year-old Man
On July 4, at around 11:15 pm, officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1500 block of Monroe Street, following reports of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found a large crowd gathered and a 26-year-old male Fairfield resident in front of the home, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers immediately rendered first aid, but the victim was, unfortunately, pronounced deceased by paramedics.
Due to the large number of people at the scene, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office assisted with crowd control. Detectives from the Fairfield Police Department’s Investigations Unit responded and took over the investigation.
Despite the number of potential witnesses, a suspect has not yet been identified in this case. Anyone with relevant information is asked to call the Investigations Unit at (707)428-7600.
As this investigation is active, no further details are available at this time, however, media inquiries may be directed to Public Information Officer Jennifer Brantley at (707)428-7444 or [email protected].
