This afternoon Stokes County Emergency Management has been monitoring the possibility of severe weather affecting our area. The attached image from NOAA indicates that there is an enhanced chance for strong winds and heavy rains this afternoon. These winds could lead to power outages and we encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions. Always remember to avoid any downed power lines, be cautious of trees across roadways, and watch out for your emergency services personnel, as they may be out working a scene.
