The National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for... Central Lafayette County in south central Wisconsin...
* Until 100 AM CDT.
* At 1138 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Darlington, Fayette, Lamont and Calamine. While there have been no reports at this time it remains possible that there are some areas with flooding, especially around the Darlington area. Scattered lighter rain showers will persist tonight but flash flooding risk should decrease over the next few hours.
* AFFECTED AREAS: LAFAYETTE, WI
Instructions:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
