The Stokes County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Breaking & Entering on Mill Street located in the Pinnacle earlier this year. The investigation into this incident revealed a connection to other reports of larcenies throughout Stokes County involving the theft of outside air conditioner units and miscellaneous property from local churches. Palmyra Methodist Church, Corinth Church of Christ and Friends Union Church all had property stolen. Several residences throughout the Germanton, Walnut Cove, King and Pinnacle communities were also victimized. “Stealing from a church is about as low as you can go. I’m proud of our detectives for their hard work in solving these multiple cases” says Sheriff Lemons.
The investigation led detectives, with Criminal Investigation Divisions, to obtain warrants on Ronnie Eugene Bowman Jr. for the following charges:
- Breaking and Entering (1 count)
- Larceny after Breaking and Entering (1 counts)
- Misdemeanor Larceny (3 counts)
- Felony Larceny (3 counts)
- Damage to Property (3 counts)
- Obtaining Property by False Pretense (2 counts)
This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 336-593-8787. As the investigation continues, we anticipate having charges on additional suspects by the end of the week.
