Postponed: Stanford's Outdoor Warning Siren Test Will *NOT* Occur Thursday

Update as of Tuesday, October 10, at 3:00 p.m.: Stanford has postponed this test.  We will share the new date once it has been announced.

Original post from Tuesday, October 10, at 7:30 a.m. below:

Stanford University will be conducting its annual test of the campus emergency alert system on Thursday, October 12, at about 12:05 p.m.

Part of this test will include the University testing the seven sirens that are located on campus.  The sirens will sound an audible tone for about 30 seconds and then include a verbal message.  The sirens will be audible throughout the campus and may also be heard in parts of Palo Alto.

The test occurs every year in October.  If you have not heard the sirens in previous years, you should not expect to hear them on Thursday either.

There is no need to call the police the report the sirens.  Please share information about this test with your neighbors, so everyone can be aware.
