Telephone Tip Line & Online Reporting Reminder
As part of National Crime Prevention month, the South River Police Department is reminding residents of two options to report non-emergent issues.
The first is our tip line which allows concerned residents to report crime or suspicious activity information. Reports can be submitted by dialing 732-613-3099. For more information, visit southriverpd.org/tip-line
The tip line allows citizens to leave a voicemail which is then reviewed by a Detective. If you wish to remain anonymous, you do NOT have to provide your contact information. However, if you wish to receive a phone or email response from an officer or would like to discuss the information further with an officer, please provide a phone number or an email address where you can be reached.
The second is our Report-it Form which allows residents to submit reports online for concerns including parking issues, traffic problems, criminal activity and drug activity. To access the Report-it Form, visit southrivernj.org/432/Report-It-Form
Neither of these options are emergency lines and should NOT be used to report crimes in progress or emergency situations. These services are not a replacement for 9-1-1. Residents should also keep in mind that reports submitted online or via the tip line are reviewed during the normal business hours of 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
If you witness or are experiencing an emergency situation, please call 9-1-1 immediately. An emergency is any serious medical problem (chest pain, seizure, bleeding, etc.), any type of fire (business, car, building, etc.), or any life-threatening situation (fights, person with weapons, etc.) or any crime in progress (when the suspect is still on scene or has just fled).
Non-emergency calls should be directed to 732-238-1000 which is the South River Police Department’s non-emergency telephone number. A non-emergency incident is property damage, break-in to a vehicle (when suspect is gone), theft of property (when suspect is gone), vandalism (when suspect is gone), panhandlers, intoxicated persons who are not disorderly, or cars blocking the street or alleys.
Our tip line and Report-it form are two of many no cost programs offered to residents by the South River Police Department. Other programs include:
- Operation Blue Angel
- Project Medicine Drop
- Child Safety Seat Inspections
- Home Security Inspections
- Unoccupied Residence Program
- Special Needs Registry
- Business Registration Program
