Sheriff’s investigators seek information on two Saturday shootings.
Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating two separate Saturday shooting incidents that left one man dead and two others injured.
Just before 2:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023, deputies were called to a residence on Ball Park Road, Saint Helena Island, for a report of gunfire. When deputies arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds.
A 36-year-old Saint Helena Island man died at the scene; the other was transported to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment.
The men were gathered outside when shots were fired from a car traveling on Ball Park Road.
No suspects have been identified in this incident.
In a separate incident, deputies were called to the Forest Fields subdivision in Burton at 9:20 p.m. after receiving several reports of gunfire. Deputies also learned of a gunshot victim at a home on Thoroughbred Circle in Forest Fields.
A 15-year-old teen suffered a gunshot wound to her leg after bullets were fired into the residence from the roadway. There were several others inside the home who were not injured. The residence sustained a significant amount of damage from the volley of gunfire.
