Grand Theft Suspect Flees From Officers 
On 12/10/23 at 3:02PM, the Simi Valley Police Department's Comunications Bureau received a shoplifting call from the Rite-Aid located at 5845 Los Angeles Avenue. The Suspect was seen pushing a loaded shopping cart out of the store without paying. The cart contained approx. 20 bottles of alcohol, along with other various items.
An Officer checking the area, located the Suspect at Los Angeles Avenue and Stow Street. The Suspect fled and a foot pursuit was initiated. The Suspect was last seen in the 2000 block of Kingman Avenue. A perimeter of the area was established. A reverse 911 call was sent out to local residents to stay in their homes. Helicopters from neighboring agencies were not available at the time of this incident. Two search teams with the assistance of two SVPD K9's, conducted yard to yard searches. The Suspect was ultimately not located within the perimeter.
There is no threat to the public and the Simi Valley Police Department would like to thank the area residents for their patience and cooperation. It should be noted that all of the stolen property was recovered and returned to Ride-Aid.
El 10/12/23 a las 3:02 p.m., la Oficina de Comunicaciones del Departamento de Policía de Simi Valley recibió una llamada de robo de Rite-Aid ubicado en 5845 Los Angeles Avenue. Se vio al sospechoso empujando un carrito de compras cargado fuera de la tienda sin pagar. El carro contenía aprox. 20 botellas de alcohol, junto con otros artículos diversos.
Un oficial que revisó el área localizó al sospechoso en Los Angeles Avenue y Stow Street. El sospechoso huyó y se inició una persecución a pie. El sospechoso fue visto por última vez en la cuadra 2000 de Kingman Avenue. Se estableció un perímetro del área. Se envió una llamada inversa al 911 a los residentes locales para que permanecieran en sus hogares. Helicópteros de agencias vecinas no estaban disponibles en el momento de este incidente. Dos equipos de búsqueda, con la ayuda de dos SVPD K9, realizaron búsquedas de patio a patio. Finalmente, el sospechoso no fue localizado dentro del perímetro.
No hay ninguna amenaza para el público y el Departamento de Policía de Simi Valley quisiera agradecer a los residentes del área por su paciencia y cooperación. Cabe señalar que toda la propiedad robada fue recuperada y devuelta a Ride-Aid.
