Full Notification

On 12/10/23 at 3:02PM, the Simi Valley Police Department's Comunications Bureau received a shoplifting call from the Rite-Aid located at 5845 Los Angeles Avenue. The Suspect was seen pushing a loaded shopping cart out of the store without paying. The cart contained approx. 20 bottles of alcohol, along with other various items.

An Officer checking the area, located the Suspect at Los Angeles Avenue and Stow Street. The Suspect fled and a foot pursuit was initiated. The Suspect was last seen in the 2000 block of Kingman Avenue. A perimeter of the area was established. A reverse 911 call was sent out to local residents to stay in their homes. Helicopters from neighboring agencies were not available at the time of this incident. Two search teams with the assistance of two SVPD K9's, conducted yard to yard searches. The Suspect was ultimately not located within the perimeter. 

There is no threat to the public at this time and the Simi Valley Police Department would like to thank the area residents for their patience and cooperation. It should be noted that all of the stolen property was recovered and returned to Ride-Aid.
