2 Drivers Arrested & 15 Drivers Cited at Novato DUI Checkpoint 
Novato, Calif. – On Friday, December 15, 2023 there was 1 driver arrested for DUI & 1 arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale.
The DUI checkpoint was held at South Novato Blvd. at Sunset Parkway.
15 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license, 378 vehicles were contacted.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.
Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
