The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Advisory now in effect until Noon today, Thursday, 12/28 for areas near the Carmel Lagoon. WHAT: Coastal flooding caused by high surf is expected. WHERE: Areas near the Carmel lagoon/Carmel-by-the-Sea WHEN...Until noon PST, Thursday, 12/28 IMPACTS: Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads. Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become unstable and unsafe. ADDITIONAL DETAILS: At 903 AM PST, Gauge reports indicated minor rises in water levels at the Carmel Lagoon. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
