* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.
* WHERE...A portion of northern West Virginia, including the following counties, Pocahontas and Randolph.
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 541 PM EST, Heavy rains from earlier in the day combined with runoff from snowmelt is occurring and will add to the flooding. - High water has been reported along portions of route 219 near the communities of Valley Head and Huttonsville. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Elkins, Mill Creek, Dailey, Snowshoe, Mingo, Beverly, Huttonsville, Harman, Cheat Bridge, Valley Head, Glady, Monterville, Bowden, Slaty Fork and Dryfork. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
