One Arrested for Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Drugs, & Burglary Tools
On February 17, 2024, around 12:00AM, a Novato Police Officer noticed a person riding a bike without lights on Redwood Blvd. The officer contacted the rider, and he identified himself as Travis Wine, a 28-year-old Novato resident.
Wine was currently on Marin County Probation and was searched per his probation terms. The officer found drugs, paraphernalia, a loaded semi-automatic firearm, a large-capacity magazine with 20 rounds inside, and burglary tools in Wine’s possession. The firearm had been reported stolen in the Sacramento area.
Wine was arrested and booked into the Marin County Jail for several crimes including being a Felon in possession of a stolen/concealed firearm, large-capacity magazine, drugs, paraphernalia, and burglary tools.
We are thankful our officers were able to safely intervene in this situation and potentially stop another crime from occurring. It is important to always be aware of your surroundings when out in the community, especially in the evening hours.
