Flood Warning until 09:00AM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.

* WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in South Central Kansas, Butler and Cowley. In Southeast Kansas, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Wilson and Woodson.

* WHEN...Until 900 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 538 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that most of the rain had ended for the time being across the area. However, between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen in some areas since Saturday evening. - Flooding impacts will continue, but little additional rainfall is expected through mid-morning. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... El Dorado, Arkansas City, Winfield, Andover, Augusta, Rose Hill, Eureka, Douglass, Towanda, Benton, Udall, Leon, Madison, Howard, Burden, Moline, Toronto, Dexter, Hamilton and Severy.

* AFFECTED AREAS: BUTLER, KS ... CHAUTAUQUA, KS ... COWLEY, KS ... ELK, KS ... GREENWOOD, KS ... WILSON, KS ... WOODSON, KS

Instructions:

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
