* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of South Central and Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in South Central Kansas, Cowley. In Southeast Kansas, Elk, Greenwood, Wilson and Woodson.
* WHEN...Until 500 PM CDT Sunday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 836 AM CDT, Doppler radar and rainfall reports indicated excessive rainfall and runoff. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 2 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Arkansas City, Winfield, Eureka, Madison, Howard, Burden, Moline, Toronto, Dexter, Hamilton, Severy, Grenola, Geuda Springs, Fall River, Cambridge, Climax, Virgil, New Albany, Coyville and Piedmont.
* AFFECTED AREAS: COWLEY, KS ... ELK, KS ... GREENWOOD, KS ... WILSON, KS ... WOODSON, KS
Instructions:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
