Good Morning Simonton Residents,
As most of you know, the city and county have been closely monitoring the Brazos River over the last couple of weeks. After meeting with Fort Bend County Road and Bridge, FBC Office of Emergency Management, City Engineer and our own emergency management committee, the decision has been made, using an abundance of caution, to deploy pumps to Valley Lodge today.
Due to the Brazos River level and the rain forecast over the next 7 days, we are looking at potential levels that historically dictate pumping at the floodgates on Fort Bend at Lariat.

Emergency Management Committee is activated and you will see the Fort Bend County Road and Bridge crews in Valley Lodge today preparing for delivery and deployment of the pumps.
Fort Bend Drive will be closed for pump operations until further notice.
