The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating missing 78-year-old Leonard Newmark.

Mr. Newmark is from Oregon and in town visiting a friend on Hilton Head Island. He was last seen around 9 a.m. today, May 20, 2024, when he was dropped off at the Barnes and Noble located at 20 Hatton Place on Hilton Head Island. When the friend returned around noon, Mr. Newmark was nowhere to be found.

Mr. Newmark is described as 5'7", 170 lbs. He was last seen wearing a light-colored long sleeve shirt with a brown vest, blue jeans, dark colored shoes, and a dull colored orange baseball cap. 

There is concern for his safety and wellbeing.
