* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...A portion of Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Allen, Elk, Greenwood, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson.
* WHEN...From 9 PM CDT this evening through Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop this evening and persist into early Thursday. Pockets of very heavy rainfall are likely, supporting localized flooding.
* AFFECTED AREAS: GREENWOOD ... WOODSON ... ALLEN ... ELK ... WILSON ... NEOSHO
Instructions:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
