Police Arrest 30-Year-Old Fairfield Man Wanted for June 5 Attack on Students
Police have arrested 30-year-old Fairfield resident Carlos Guadalupe DeLosReyes for attacking two 12-year-old students as they walked to school on June 5.
The pair, a girl and boy, were on the bicycle path located between Meadowlark Drive and East Tabor Avenue when they were approached by a man now identified as DeLosReyes.
The children bravely fought off the man, who rode a BMX style bicycle, before reporting the incident to school officials and police.
Detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU) worked tirelessly to solve the case, conducting multiple interviews and reviewing of dozens of hours of surveillance footage.
Their efforts led them to DeLosReyes, for whom an arrest warrant was obtained.
DeLosReyes was located and taken into custody by Special Operations detectives on July 3, 2024, and booked into Solano County Jail on several felony charges including: kidnap to commit rape; attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child; lewd or lascivious act with a child; assault with intent to commit rape; criminal threats; false imprisonment, and child abuse likely to cause great bodily injury.
