* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southern Illinois, including the following counties, Franklin, Jackson and Perry.
* WHEN...Until 700 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1229 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... West Frankfort, Benton, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Christopher, Rend Lake Area, Sesser, Zeigler, Royalton, Elkville, Valier, West City, Ava, Willisville, Thompsonville, North City, Buckner, Cutler, Dowell and Orient.
