Yesterday (9/5), around 2:47AM, Novato Police Officers responded to a report of two men in dark clothing carrying a hammer attempting to force entry into a building. Upon arrival, officers located the two men matching the suspect descriptions as they attempted to leave the area. The men were found in possession of ski masks, gloves, a headlamp and had stashed a set of bolt cutters near the area they were speaking with officers. Officers noticed damage to a window of an apartment facility. The individuals were identified as Jesse Jones (a 38-year-old Petaluma resident) and Kyle Jones (a 36-year-old Santa Rosa resident), who were both arrested and booked for possession of burglary tools, probation violation, and disorderly conduct.
 
We would like to thank our community for quickly notifying us of the incident. We are thankful our officers were able to safely intervene in this situation and potentially stop additional crimes from occurring.
