Burglar Arrested
On August 20, 2024, around 2:00AM, our School Resource Officer (SRO) investigated the report of classroom burglary on the Novato High School campus. During the burglary, campus keys were stolen along with personal items. The SRO developed leads and spoke with witnesses. The SRO notified surrounding law enforcement agencies about the incident and identified a possible suspect as Nicholas Tannler, a 34-year-old Inverness resident.
Last night (9/10), around 10:30PM, nightshift officers noticed a suspicious car on Redwood Blvd. Tannler was in the vehicle and detained for other unrelated crimes. Officers investigated his connection in the Novato High School incident. Evidence confirmed Tannler was involved in the August burglary. The stolen campus keys were recovered and returned to the school. Tannler was charged with several crimes including commercial burglary and narcotic offenses.
