Child Safety Seat Check & Installation Event
As part of National Seat Check Saturday, the South River Police Department will be hosting a free Child Safety Seat Check event. Stop by South River Police Headquarters (61 Main Street) tomorrow, September 21st between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Officers who are nationally certified technicians will be on hand to inspect and assist with proper installation of child safety seats for any age - newborn through youth booster.
When arriving, please access the rear parking lot from Thomas Street. We'll be on hand to assist you from there.
Car crashes are the leading cause of death for children ages 1-13 in the United States. The proper use of child car seats is one of the simplest and most effective methods available for protecting the lives of our young children in the event of a motor vehicle crash. However, 3 out of every 4 children in child safety seats are not properly secured, or even worse, not restrained at all. Only the correct use of child car seats will offer the protection your child needs.
Can't make this event? Appointments for free child safety seat inspections are also available year-round with the South River Police Department. For more information, visit southriverpd.org/child-safety-seat-checks
