Advisory

Extremely high temps through Wednesday. Take precautions and avoid heat-related illnesses.

Hot and dry weather is expected to continue through Wednesday of this week with moderate-to-extreme HeatRisk levels across much of the Bay Area. 

An Excessive Heat Warning is in effect until Wednesday 10/2 at 11pm for much of the region, which will see temps in the mid-100s for inland areas and in the mid-90s for coastal areas.

No Red Flag Warning has been issued for wildfires, however, hot weather will dry fuels to critical levels, which could lead to easier fire starts.

Prevent heat-related injuries by doing the following: 

  • Stay hydrated
  • Limit sun exposure
  • Wear lightweight, light-colored and loose-fitting clothing
  • Avoid the hottest part of the day
  • Never leave a person or a pet in a parked car
  • Give your pets plenty of fresh, clean water
  • Take advantage of cooling spaces like libraries, shopping centers or cooling centers when available
