Hydrant flushing will start this week, beginning on Monday 10/07/24 between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. 
As in every Fall, the Borough will transfer from its own well back to American Water. As part of this transfer, the Department of Public Works will conduct a comprehensive flushing of the water system this week, starting Monday, 10/07/24. This process will continue for several nights. Flushing will occur between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. to minimize impact on your home.
Residents may expect to see a temporary discoloration of the water and/or a decrease of pressure when flushing is occurring. We recommend that you avoid running your tap water or using the washing machine or diswasher between 8p.m. and 4 a.m. If you do experience discoloration, please run cold water through your your taps until they run clear.
