Clinton County Commissioners Issue Burn Ban

As of 10:00am the Clinton County Commissioners have issued a burn ban for Clinton County.  Please see the following:  

ORDER CONTINUING BAN OPEN BURNING AND RELATED ACTIVITIES
IN CLINTON COUNTY, INDIANA
 
Findings
The Board of Commissioners finds the hazard of fire throughout Clinton County due to
Extremely dry weather has not sufficiently abated and that the hazard is still a threat to public
Safety. The Board of Commissioners further finds it is necessary in the interest of public
Safety to continue the ban on open burning and related activities provide in Chapter 93 of the Clinton County Code.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF CLINTON COUNTY, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS:
 

1. The ban of open burning and related activities which was implemented effective October 24, 2024 pursuant to Commissioners Order No. 2024-01, is hereby renewed and shallContinue in full force and effect unless or until rescinded by order of the Board of
Commissioners.                                                                                                                                     

2. Complaints and summonses issued for violations of 93.02 of the Clinton County Code during the term of this Order shall direct the appearance of violators before the Board ofCommissioners at 9 A.M. at the regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners next
succeeding the date of issuance of the complaint (Board meets the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of
each month), 125 Courthouse Square, Frankfort, IN 46041.  Use of the Uniform Ticket and
Complaint is authorized and shall cite 93.02 and shall modify the ticket to require the
violator’s appearance at “Commissioners Room, 125 Courthouse Sq., Frankfort, In 46041”.
The issuing officer shall file the original in the office of the Auditor of Clinton County.
 
 3. 
 Copies of this Order shall be distributed by Clinton County Central Dispatch to all
Police and fire agencies in Clinton County and by the Director of Clinton County Emergency
Management to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
