Rapid Repair Program: Helping McDowell Residents Return Home Safely

Baptists on Mission (BOM) is actively conducting the Essential Rapid Repairs (ERR) program across McDowell County to assist homeowners affected by Hurricane Helene. This initiative focuses on swiftly restoring homes to safe and sanitary conditions, enabling residents to return while awaiting comprehensive repairs to restore their homes to pre-storm conditions. Volunteers are diligently performing tasks such as mud-outs, sheetrock removal, and mold treatment. The ERR program aims to make homes safe, sanitary, and functional before the onset of winter, with plans for volunteers to continue assisting in the coming years to complete the restoration process. Homeowners affected by Hurricane Helene who seek assistance can complete an online form to be placed on a waiting list by visiting baptistsonmission.org/helene-homeowner-assistance. Providing a valid address, mobile number, and email is essential for contact. While submitting the form does not guarantee assistance, BOM will reach out if they can provide help. For questions about the Rapid Repair Program, please call the hotline at 828-652-3241.

Free Market Update: Changes to Service Locations

The Free Market on US 221 North will be closing on November 21, 2024. However, the Old Fort Baptist Free Market remains open to serve the community. Operating hours for the Old Fort location remain the same.
