Flood Warning in effect until 9PM tonight. Take Precaution.

As a result of the excessive rainfall impacting the region, isolated flooding is occurring in some parts of Richmond.  The following locations have been observed and reported by the City's Street Maintenance team:

  • McLaughlin Street & Esmond Ave.
  • 23rd Street and Garvin Ave.
  • 23rd Street and Rheem Ave.
  • MacDonald Ave. & I-80 Overpass (WB)
  • Canal Blvd. (SB) past treatment plant
  • MacDonald Ave. 37th & 38th (WB)
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Flood Warning for the area until 9:00pm tonight. We therefore advise residents to remain vigilant and extremely cautious of hazardous conditions.  Please remember to:
  • Drive only if necessary
  • If you need to drive, avoid driving through flooded waters
  • Maintain your distance
  • Plan for longer commute times
  • Look out for any fallen debris or powerlines
