Winter Storm Warning until 04:00AM Thursday

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 4 and 8 inches, with the highest amounts along and west of the Eastern Continental Divide. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Garrett County. In West Virginia, Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

* WHEN...From 1 AM Wednesday to 4 AM EST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile at times due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Rain will change to snow late tonight above 3,000 feet and by early Wednesday morning for the rest of the area. Snowfall rates around 1 inch per hour are possible at times through Wednesday evening.
