An update from the City of Beverly Hills on the LA County wildfires

This is Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman in the Emergency Operations Center with Fire Chief Greg Barton continuing to monitor the latest on the wildfires.

Chief, we’re seeing progress on the fires but we’re also hearing about Fire Weather Warnings through Wednesday – can you share more about that?

Chief Barton:

Firefighters are making great progress on the fires in Southern California, and we are in constant communications with our partners at the surrounding fires.  We are currently monitoring all the weather conditions in the area, and they are expected to improve by Wednesday and always remember if you see something, please call 911.

Thank you Chief.  There continues to be an air quality alert for the area until midday tomorrow.  So a reminder to limit your outdoor activity especially if you have breathing difficulties or health conditions.

My City Council colleagues – Vice Mayor Nazarian and Councilmembers Mirisch, Corman and Wells are all proactively monitoring the very latest information and staying in regular communication with City staff to ensure Beverly Hills is prepared.
If you have any questions, please call the City’s Hotline at 310-550-4680.  You may also visit beverlyhills.org/emergency for the latest communications and information on how to help the victims of these devastating fires.

Thank you and stay safe Beverly Hills.
