Wednesday 1/15 Message from the City of Beverly Hills
This is Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman in the Emergency Operations Center with Fire Chief Greg Barton.
Chief, please bring us up to date.
Thank you, Mayor. We continue to monitor the current weather conditions. Progress continues to be made on the fires and we remain in constant communication with the incident commanders. The Beverly Hills Fire Department still has firefighters assisting the Palisades fires. We are reminding everyone to remain vigilant and call 911 if you see anything. We would like to thank the community for the ongoing support of our Fire Department and all emergency personnel working on these fires.
Thank you Chief.
So many of you have asked how to help the victims of these devastating fires.
The Rotary Club of Beverly Hills will be collecting items this Sunday, January 19th from 1 – 4 p.m. at Fire Station #1 located at 445 N. Rexford Drive.
The Club is asking for only NEW children’s, men’s and women’s pajamas, undergarments and socks. Toiletries and first aid supplies are also welcome.
All donations go directly to First Responders and Evacuees.
For additional ways to donate, visit beverlyhills.org/emergency and click on donation information.
A reminder that there is a windblown dust and ash advisory through tonight at 7 p.m. Please take precautions when outdoors.
Unless new conditions warrant, this will be our final video briefing from the Emergency Operations Center.
Please know that your City Council and staff remain vigilant and will continue to monitor the situation. You will be notified directly from the City of Beverly Hills if conditions change and you need to take any action.
And on behalf of the entire City Council, stay safe and thank you Beverly Hills.
