The Stokes County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy completed its third week last night. They had the chance to meet Communications Director Nicole Durham and get a tour of the 911 communications center. While in the communications center, they heard firsthand a telecommunicator answering a 911 call and saw how their partner dispatched the needed resources while information was still being gathered. Public safety requires a lot of teamwork. Next week they get to learn about the role of the magistrate, probation, and the clerk’s office.
