* Flash Flood Warning for... Jefferson County in south central Illinois... Perry County in south central Illinois... Wayne County in south central Illinois...

* Until 1130 AM CDT.

* At 628 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported that most creeks were out of their banks in Jefferson County. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Law enforcement reported. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mount Vernon, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Fairfield, Rend Lake Area, Wayne City, Woodlawn, Bluford, Cisne, Tamaroa, Willisville, Ina, Dix, Cutler, Waltonville, Bonnie, Jeffersonville, Belle Rive, Sims and Nason.
