FFWPAH The National Weather Service in Paducah has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for... Jefferson County in south central Illinois... Perry County in south central Illinois... Wayne County in south central Illinois...

* Until 900 PM CDT.

* At 310 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rainfall has continued this afternoon. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mount Vernon, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville, Fairfield, Rend Lake Area, Wayne City, Woodlawn, Bluford, Cisne, Tamaroa, Willisville, Ina, Dix, Cutler, Waltonville, Bonnie, Jeffersonville, Belle Rive, Sims and Nason.
