Traffic Advisory: 18th annual Pedal Hilton Head Island to impact travel Sunday, May 4 
Residents and visitors of Hilton Head Island are advised to expect traffic impacts on Sunday, May 4, 2025, due to the 18th Annual Pedal Hilton Head Island cycling event. The event is expected to draw more than 700 cyclists and will affect several key roadways and pathways throughout the morning.
Cyclists will begin staging at Lowcountry Celebration Park on Pope Avenue, with departures starting at 7:30 a.m. and continuing in waves throughout the morning.
Motorists should be aware of potential delays and exercise caution, especially along the following:
- Town of Hilton Head Island pathways
- US 278
- Cross Island Parkway
- Pope Avenue
- Cordillo Parkway
- New Orleans Road
- Palmetto Bay Road
- Marshland Road
- Leg O Mutton Road
- Mathews Drive
- Dillon Road
- Union Cemetery Road
- Beach City Road
- Gumtree Road
- Squire Pope Road
Sheriff’s deputies will be stationed at key intersections to assist with traffic control and ensure safety for both cyclists and motorists.
