HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA May 1, 2025– On April 25, 2025, just before midnight, officers from the Hollister Police Department responded to a reported stabbing in the 200 block of Elm Drive. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 31-year-old male victim who had sustained multiple stab wounds.
Hollister Fire and AMR personnel provided medical aid at the scene before transporting the victim to a local trauma hospital, where he was last reported to be in serious but stable condition.
The Investigations Bureau was notified and responded to the scene. The incident has been determined to be a gang-related attempted murder.
Officers have developed evidence identifying Jose Astorga and Eddie DeGracia as the suspects allegedly responsible for the stabbing. On April 26, 2025, Jose Astorga (27 years old) was arrested for the attempted murder of a 31-year-old Hollister resident. Detectives have been following leads in attempt to located Eddie DeGracia. However, he is still outstanding and is considered armed and dangerous.
Detectives have worked tirelessly on this case, serving multiple search warrants throughout the city and drafting over ten additional warrants to further the investigation.
The Hollister Police Department would like to thank the San Benito County Sheriff's Office and the San Benito Specialized Investigation Unit for their assistance in locating and arresting Jose Astorga for attempted murder.
The Hollister Police Department is requesting the community’s assistance in locating suspect Eddie DeGracia. If anyone has information on his whereabouts or sees him, they are urged to notify law enforcement immediately.
