Due to a traffic incident involving a utility pole and wires down, Whitehead Avenue in the area of Wojie way will be closed to traffic. Traffic will be detoured around the closure at Buck Road (East Brunswick) and Kamm Avenue.

Motorists should anticipate traffic delays in the area and plan another route, if possible.

Due to this incident, portions of South River are without power. Internet and landline telephone outages are also possible. South River Electric Utility, along with other utility companies, are working on repairs and restoration.

During the repair process, additional areas may lose power. If your power is restored before all repairs are completed, it is possible you may lose power again while repairs are continuing.

Repairs are expected to take approximately 8 hours. If this timeframe needs to be extended, an update will be provided. 

Please do not contact police headquarters to inquire about the status of the power. If you need non-emergency assistance, contact us at 732-238-1000. Only dial 9-1-1 for emergencies.
