COMMUNITY NOTICE – FALSE SOCIAL MEDIA REPORT 
The Sonora Police Department has been made aware of a social media post circulating that falsely claims local authorities are searching for an individual wanted for armed robbery and for assaulting a female police officer in Sonora, Texas.
Chief of Police Donnie Fernandez would like to assure the community that no such incident has occurred in Sonora. There have been no recent assaults involving any officers of the Sonora Police Department, including female officers and there is no ongoing manhunt for any such individual.
At this time, this appears to be a scam or hoax. The public is advised to exercise caution when sharing unverified information on social media.
