NJ MVC & NJ Courts Scams 
The South River Police Department is warning residents of scams involving text messages falsely portraying the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and the New Jersey Courts.
The scam text messages falsely claim you have an unpaid summons and threaten heavier fines and suspensions if payment is not immediately made.
These text messages are scams. The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and the New Jersey Court System will never request payment via text messages. If you receive one of these text messages, do not click on any links it contains and immediately delete the message.
