Flood Warning until 08:00AM Thursday 
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of Central, South Central, and Southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in Central Kansas, Chase and Marion. In South Central Kansas, Butler and Sedgwick. In Southeast Kansas, Allen, Greenwood and Woodson.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM CDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 938 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated slow moving thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the warned area. Between 3 and 6 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Wichita, Derby, El Dorado, Andover, Haysville, Augusta, Park City, Valley Center, Bel Aire, Iola, Goddard, Rose Hill, Maize, Eureka, Humboldt, Douglass, Towanda, Yates Center, Colwich and Peabody. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 135 between mile markers 0 and 1...and between mile markers 10 and 14...and between mile markers 2 and 9. Interstate 35 between mile markers 100 and 116...and between mile markers 37 and 99.
* AFFECTED AREAS: ALLEN, KS ... BUTLER, KS ... CHASE, KS ... GREENWOOD, KS ... MARION, KS ... SEDGWICK, KS ... WOODSON, KS
Instructions:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
