Connectivity Alert for McDowell County
A Charter fiber line has been damaged, affecting internet and some cell phone service across McDowell County.
911 services remain fully operational and are receiving calls without issue.
All Fire Departments and EMS Stations are staffed and ready to assist.
If you are unable to place a phone call, please proceed to the nearest Fire or EMS Station for help.
We encourage residents to enable Wi-Fi calling on their smartphones if possible.
Estimated time for service restoration is 6 to 8 hours from now. We will provide updates as new information becomes available.
