SRHS Trespassing & Vandalism Incident 
The South River Police Department would like to inform the community about a recent incident involving high school students who were caught trespassing on school property and defacing school facilities.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, officers responded to a report of unauthorized entry and possible property damage at the South River High School. Through investigation, it was determined that a large group of students entered the school premises outside of school hours and purposely defaced school property.
The South River Police Department is in coordination with school officials in order to address the incident, which is currently being treated as an act of Criminal Trespassing and Vandalism. Involved students have been identified and are currently facing disciplinary actions through school authorities. Additionally, law enforcement officials will be working with the students’ families to ensure appropriate consequences and accountability.
“Criminal Trespassing and Vandalism are serious offenses that threaten the safety and integrity of not only our schools, but our community as well.” said Chief Mark E. Tinitigan, of the South River Police Department. “We take these incidents very seriously and will continue to work closely with schools to promote a safe environment for students, staff, and residents.”
