HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TUESDAY TO 8 PM EDT WEDNESDAY...
* WHAT...Heat index values up to 108 expected.
* WHERE...The Piedmont and foothills of northeast Georgia, western
North Carolina, and Upstate South Carolina.
* WHEN...From noon Tuesday to 8 PM EDT Wednesday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car
interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Call 911 immediately if you see a child or pet unattended in a vehicle.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
